Adia Barnes was named SMU's new women's basketball coach Saturday after spending the last nine seasons at her alma mater Arizona.

Last Sunday, newly hired athletic director Damon Evans dismissed women’s coach Toyelle Wilson for Barnes. The men’s basketball program hired Andy Enfield away from USC last year. Even outside the athletic department, SMU recently announced former University of Texas President Jay Hartzell as its next president.

Duke star Cooper Flagg won his second major award in two days when he received the Naismith Trophy as the national player of the year on Sunday.
