Apple usually sends out invites in late August, but history and habit suggest this year’s iPhone event will fall on September 9.

The low-cost iPhone looks set to be getting a new chip next year, but with a similar design to the 16e, which could deter some gamers.

According to media reports, the iPhone 18 series could feature four models, including the iPhone 18 Air, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a foldable iPhone.

While we don't yet know the new iPhones Apple will be dropping this fall — though there are iPhone 17 rumors — we do know, per Apple's site, that the phones listed below will be compatible with iOS 26. Basically, if you have an iPhone that was announced in 2019 or later, you're in the clear:

The iPhone 17 is reportedly rumored to be announced in September, meaning Nevadans may be just weeks away from their next upgrade. Last year, Apple introduced its iPhone 16 range on Sept. 9, with the new phones ready for pre-order later that week. In September 2023, Apple unveiled its iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The phone may come with big upgrades, including a new design, faster performance, and a better camera with a new telephoto sensor compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Apple is set to keep the low-cost iPhone ('e') in its lineup for a second year in a row. The SE, which was replaced by the iPhone 16e earlier this year,
