Needless to say, nothing about CM Punk is manufactured. He is true to himself, and therefore true to his fan base, which is very reminiscent of many throwback Chicago sports icons.

As has long been rumored, Punk will make his return to the company on the debut episode of “AEW Collision” on Saturday, June 17 (8 p.m., TNT) at the United Center in his hometown of Chicago.

This is the first time CM Punk made an appearance at a WWE event since leaving the company in 2014. He made his return to a major wrestling promotion in 2021 when he arrived at All Elite Wrestling.

Punk’s recovery this time around is quite accelerated, as a WWE SummerSlam comeback would mean he’s back to 100 percent in just over six months. WWE SmackDown goes down tonight at 8 PM ET on FOX.

Conspiracy is the only thing keeping the endangered CM Punk story alive. Raw in Chicago is just too close to the day that he quit, so maybe—just maybe—this will be the payoff.
