Parker, a towering outfielder who helped propel the Pirates to the World Series in 1979, was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame last year.

Parker was a member of the 1979 World Series team and will be enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in July.

Dave Parker, a Hall of Fame outfielder, first baseman and designated hitter for the Pittsburgh Pirates and five other squads over a 19-year career, died Saturday, the Pirates announced. He was 74.
