Hurricane Erin continues to spin out in the Atlantic Ocean with steady winds as strong as 105 mph, creating rough surf conditions and dangerous rip currents up and down the Jersey Shore on Tuesday.

Hurricane Erin is not expected to make landfall in the United States, but a tropical storm watch has been issued for portions of the North Carolina coast.

The hurricane's outer rain bands have started to affect the Bahamas, the US National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.
