The winter storm brought up to about 2 inches of snow over parts of north Georgia and areas south of Interstate 20. “There was a sharp cut off in accumulating snow basically right along and near I-85 with not much, as expected, over areas north and west of Atlanta,” Meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

As several Georgia communities prepare for another winter storm, state leaders and agencies gave info on what will happen and what's being done.

Frozen precipitation is rare in Georgia, even more so in the southern part of the state, and conditions could be similar to 2014’s “Snowmageddon,” Gov. Brian Kemp said at a news conference Tuesday.
