After sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Astros return home to open a series against the Cleveland Guardians who have lost 10 in a row.

Guardians update (40-47): They lost their 10th straight game Sunday as the Tigers completed a three-game sweep at Progressive Field. Steven Kwan .571 (4 for 7) and Bo Naylor .429 (3 for 7) have hit the Astros well this year. Cade Smith owns Cleveland’s only win against them this year following a solid 6 1/3-inning start by Bibee on June 8.

Josh Hader will make his sixth appearance in the All-Star Game, his first as a member of the Astros. After a rocky at times 2024 campaign, Hader has been nearly perfect for Houston in 2025, converting 25 of 25 save chances and sporting a tidy 1.80 ERA in 38 appearances.
