The U.S. Men's National Team came up short in the Gold Cup Final on Sunday, losing to Mexico 2-1. A tight game all the way through, Mexico had just enough to leave NRG Stadium in Houston with a win. The United States got off to an early start when Chris Richards found the back of the net in the fourth minute.

For 23 fleeting minutes, the USMNT was atop CONCACAF. But it succumbed to a Mexican comeback, and, in the end, a better team. So it settled for second place at the Gold Cup.

El Tri on Sunday came from behind to beat the U.S. men's national team 2-1 in the Gold Cup final in Houston, Texas, as Edson Alvarez scored the winner in the 77th minute.
