With a history that goes back to 1876, the Cubs set a new franchise record by blasting eight home run hits off St. Louis starter Miles Mikolas and lefty reliever John King. The Cardinals, a franchise established in 1882, had never before surrendered eight homers in a game, making this another first in the long-running rivalry.
