PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Funeral arrangements have been announced for Frank Caprio. Caprio, who served as a judge for the Providence Municipal Court for almost 40 years, died last week. He was 88.

The Rhode Island Convention Center will open at 3 p.m. Thursday for anyone wishing to pay their respects after the death of Frank Caprio Sr., widely known as America’s “nicest judge.”

Judge Frank Caprio, the jurist called " the nicest judge in the world ," died Wednesday, Aug. 20, after a battle with pancreatic cancer, his family confirmed through social media.
