An election denier who tried to overturn Donald Trump’s 2020 election loss is facing scrutiny over his new role in the Justice Department as part of a team investigating the president’s foes.

The president said he would like to see the weaponization fund proceed despite setbacks.

During the interview, the president was repeatedly challenged on several points by the show's presenter Kristen Welker.

Anchor Welker noted Republicans had performed competitively in California's June 2 primary elections and explained the state's vote-counting process often takes several days to complete. Trump responded by alleging that delays in counting votes were evidence of wrongdoing.
