The building was designed by Arup and built as a regional headquarters for Lloyds Bank in 1988-1991, when the company relocated all of its retail banking functions to a single site outside of London.

The plans to convert the former Lloyds bank building in London Road, St Leonards, were given the go-ahead by Hastings Borough Council on February 17. The bank branch closed in 2018.
