NORMAN — OU football coach Brent Venables didn't have an update on linebacker Kobie McKinzie (groin) or defensive end R Mason Thomas' (unspecified lower body) statuses for the Alabama game on Monday.

It was a bye week for the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday, with the team enjoying some much-needed rest after a grueling back-to-back series against Ole Miss and Tennessee, where they fought a physical game for four quarters of each and pulling out a monumental victory over the Volunteers last week.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer, defensive coordinator Kane Wommack and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb are scheduled to meet with the media beginning at 11:30 a.m. CT. The coordinators are due up first, followed by DeBoer.

Oklahoma is off in Week 11 of the season after its impressive 33-27 road win over Tennessee on Nov. 1. It's the Sooners' second and final off week of the season. Oklahoma was also off Sept. 27, ahead of games against Kent State and Texas.

Kalen DeBoer is focused on the here and now. But he said his Alabama roster "better remember" the Oklahoma game in 2024.
