Jets rookie quarterback Brady Cook handled the first-team reps on Wednesday with veterans Tyrod Taylor (groin) and Justin Fields (knee) out of practice.
Fellow QB Tyrod Taylor (groin) has also been ruled out by the Jets, which paves the way for Brady Cook to start for the team this weekend, with Adrian Martinez in line to be elevated from the practice squad to serve as Cook's backup. Fields' next chance to see game action will be Dec. 21, against the Saints on the road.
But the 36-year-old backup had an injury that forced him out, leaving Glenn with Fields as his only option. Fields started and won in Week 8, giving Glenn his first win as the Jets' head coach, subsequently keeping his starting job alive.
With two veteran QBs dealing with injuries and a rookie QB finding his footing during his first NFL season, HC Aaron Glenn said he will continue to evaluate his options at the position ahead of Week 15.
