The European Space Agency said on Monday it was studying the impact of U.S. budget proposals that include cuts to NASA moon programmes in which it has a role, and said it remained open to cooperation with the U.

The budget threatens to kill Lunar Gateway and the Mars Sample Return mission, along with phasing out the gigantic SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft.

The President’s priorities are apparent in his proposal to cut about a quarter of NASA’s 2026 budget.
