The Texas Rangers were able to hold off the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night for a 2-1 win in their first game of a three-game series, but it wasn’t all positive for the team. Shortstop Corey Seager missed another game because of nagging hamstring soreness.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said X-rays were negative, but that the right hand “swelled up pretty good.” He said a stint on the injured list was certainly a possibility.

The Texas Rangers removed a second reliever from a save situation in as many games on Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies.

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager was put on the injured list again because of a hamstring strain her suffered on May 11.

Seager is on the IL for the second time this season, with the latest move retroactive to Sunday. He had played in only five games since being activated May 3 after missing 10 games with a right hamstring strain.

In their second game under interim manager Warren Schaeffer, the Rockies’ offense was once again a no-show in a 4-1 loss to the Rangers on Tuesday night at Globe Field. Schaeffer was named interim manager on Sunday when Bud Black was fired.
