A measles outbreak in Texas has grown to 159 cases, and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it is now on the ground in that state to respond. The agency posted on X that it’s partnering with the Texas Department of State Health Services.

The CDC warns of potential measles spread during spring break, with nearly 200 cases in Texas. Local health departments are preparing and advising schools on vaccination protocols.

The federal health agency said it will be offering onsite support to local officials during the growing outbreak, which has already killed one child.
