A 28-year-old man from Afghanistan was arrested following a knife attack on Wednesday in a park in the German city of Aschaffenburg in which two people were killed, including a toddler, police and the state health minister said.

A 2-year-old boy of Moroccan origin and a 41-year-old German man were killed in a knife attack Wednesday in a park in Aschaffenburg in southern Germany. Three other people were injured in the attack.

A two-year-old boy and a man aged 41 have been killed in a stabbing in a German park. Police confirmed that a 28-year-old man from Afghanistan was arrested following the attack in Bavarian city of Aschaffenburg. Two others were taken to hospital with serious injuries and the public park was cordoned off by officers.
