IOWA CITY — Former Drake guard Isaia Howard has committed to Iowa basketball, following head coach Ben McCollum 's move to the Hawkeyes, he announced Thursday. Howard will come to Iowa with three seasons of college eligibility remaining.

Ben McCollum continues to bring former players with his to Iowa. On Wednesday, standout guard Kael Combs announced that he is committing to Iowa. He becomes the second Drake Bulldog to follow McCollum to Iowa,

McCollum replaces 15-year veteran head coach Fran McCaffery, whom Iowa fired on March 14 following a 17-16 (7-13 Big Ten) finish this past season. McCollum will be tasked with reinvigorating the Iowa program, which has not made the NCAA Tournament the past two seasons and has not advanced beyond the second round since the 1998-99 campaign.
