The bird flu outbreak, which caused a shortfall in the national egg supply, has sent prices skyrocketing. And now, supermarket chains are imposing limits on purchases to combat stockpiling — and to ensure their customers get their fair share.

TikTok user @ninav0728 says in a Jan. 29 video where customers stockpile eggs into their carts at an unnamed Costco. The caption adds that the egg supply was gone in “less than 10 minutes.”
