India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi is telling the Indian armed forces it has complete freedom of action to respond to any threats following a terrorist attack in the contested Kashmir region.

Pakistan says India is planning to attack imminently in response to a deadly terrorist attack that Delhi blames on its nuclear armed neighbor.

The country's information minister on Wednesday claimed Islamabad had "credible intelligence" suggesting that India intended to act carry out military action in response to what New Delhi believes is Pakistan's involvement in the deadly attack in Pahalgam.
