Not every fight card is a home run on paper, and when the lineup for UFC 315 was announced, plenty of fans rolled their eyes and yearned for more. Fortunately, with such a low bar to clear, the competitors who headed to Montreal impressed with their performances.

In a bloody battle, Jack Della Maddalena upset Belal Muhammad by unanimous decision at UFC 315 in Montreal and won the welterweight title. The judges scored the five-round title bout 48-47, 48-47, 49-46 for JDM.

The UFC makes its return to Montreal for UFC 315 Saturday, headlined by welterweight champion Belal Muhammad’s first title defense against Jack Della Maddalena. Longtime women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will defend her belt Saturday, where the main card begins at 10 p.m. ET.
