Move over, Stuyvesant—Queens just stole the crown. According to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings, Queens High School for the Sciences at York College has officially been named the best high school in New York City, topping an ultra-competitive list that includes some of the city’s most legendary institutions.
The City newspaper said Winnie Greco stuffed the money in a red envelope inside a bag of sour cream and onion potato chips.
That is a feeling that the newest rendition of the team is one that’s different from the one that left the field in complete despair and facing roster upheaval after a 3-14 last season, and one that can finally turn the poor fortunes of the organization around in the latest season to come.

Topping the list for New York was Queens High School for the Sciences at York College, which was No. 25 in the national rankings. The school boasts a graduation rate of 100%, and 99% of students there have passed at least one Advanced Placement exam. Queens High School also took the top spot last year.
