The rodeo's 33rd annual event, held by the New Mexico Gay Rodeo Association, is set for this weekend at Rodeo de Santa Fe.

Alfonso Lovato, who spent decades in city government, died Aug. 1 after a battle with cancer. He was 80 years old.

The new school is the first publicly funded Waldorf school in New Mexico and replaces a former private school at the site.
