Tesla’s selloff on Wall Street intensified on Monday, with shares of the electric vehicle maker plunging 14% and heading for their worst day on the market since September 2020.

Tesla's stock plummeted by over 15 percent on Monday, giving the electric vehicle company its worst day of trading since September 2020. It's the latest in an ongoing string of losses, with Tesla's shares having consistently fallen in the seven weeks since President Donald Trump took office.

Tesla shares dropped more than 15% on Monday, making it the worst performer in the S&P 500 Index. Tesla’s stock has dropped by nearly half in three months. Even so, investors are still debating whether Elon Musk’s electric-vehicle maker remains overpriced.

Tesla stock has been struggling lately. Investors have hoped for a bounce as some of the politics driving increased uncertainty among investor uncertainty subside. A rebound, however, didn’t materialize Monday as investors considered the possibility of a recession and a Wall Street analyst cut his forecast of deliveries.
