I ran back up the trail and got to my pack, took out my headlamp and kept hiking into the night. I only did maybe three miles and then had to look for a stealth spot to camp. I finally found a small flat spot barely big enough for my tent right off the trail by like 2 feet. I threw up my tent and wasnt even hungry from dehydration.

Not on trail, but in a trail town during a section hike in CT/MA the weather turned bad and my buddy and I headed into Great Barrington and got a room at a cheap motel (can't remember the name). At one point in the night I wake up to see that someone has opened the window and is sticking their head into the room.
Has anyone ever tried living on the trail full time.
There was this dude with the trail name Bismarck, aka James T. Hammes. What a wild story. Started living on the AT full time in 2009 after being accused of embezzlement.
