I found this hoverfly visiting the male flowers of a Black Tupelo (Nyssa sylvatica). This time of year, these trees are covered with busy bees collecting nectar and pollen. This one might be the Black-shouldered Drone Fly (Eristalis dimidiata). Many of the hoverflies or flower flies are bee mimics.
