People with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) may have facial hair, known as hirsutism. This is from higher levels of androgens, like testosterone and can be seen on our face, chin, chest, etc. where it may typically be seen on a biological male body. It’s one of the 2/3 diagnostic criteria for having PCOS. Even up to 11% of women without PCOS have hirsutism! As a woman with PCOS, this does NOT make us any less of a woman.
