This “pesky” plant that many Floridians spray or mow over? It’s Sunshine mimosa (Mimosa strigillosa) - a Florida native superhero that: ➡️ Creates this spectacular pollinator buffet while typical lawns offer zero food. ➡️ Stays lush during a drought when the grass turns brown. ➡️ Naturally suppresses (actual) weeds without chemicals. ➡️ Improves soil quality! It’s a nitrogen fixer. Nature designed this perfect ground cover for Florida conditions thousands of years before sod companies existed.
