Southwest Airlines, which used to let passengers choose seats at boarding, has announced several changes in recent months, including assigned seats and new fees for checked bags. Because of that, they are changing the interiors of their planes to accommodate the new seating plans and give travelers more overhead bin space. CBS News Senior Transportation correspondent Kris Van Cleave got a first look at a new Southwest plane — here’s what has changed.

Southwest Flight 2094 was diverted to Atlanta after what was described as a bomb threat. Video circulating online shows armed officers boarding the aircraft with weapons drawn. Passengers can be seen with their hands raised while one man is taken into custody. The response appears rapid and tactical, consistent with how authorities handle reported threats involving explosives. At this time, the publicly available information indicates a passenger was detained following the diversion. No addition

Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 MAX uses nearly the entirety of RWY 07L this morning in Phoenix, as they depart to Honolulu! (Yes, I’m aware all takeoffs are calculated, and this was a safe procedure). I’m simply stating what was observed. #boeing #737 #boeing737 #737max #boeinglovers #avgeek #aviationgeek #aviationdaily #fyp #foryou #fypシ #planespotting #aviation4u #airplane #southwestairlines #takeoff #aviationlovers
